Who Is This Driving Assessment For?
Ready to begin your driving journey or get back on the road with confidence? At My Therapy Crew, our Comprehensive Driving Assessments are tailored for beginner, experienced, and older drivers, whether they have an existing disability or medical condition, they're experiencing cognitive changes or have had a medical event impacting their thinking and memory skills.
Our assessment is ideal for learner, experienced, and older drivers, who have difficulties with their physical and or cognitive abilities due to a medical condition or disability. Using objective, evidence-based measures, our Occupational Therapists evaluate physical and cognitive medical fitness to drive, providing quick, cost-effective predictions of safe driving ability.
Please note that individuals with active mental health conditions are not eligible for this service.
What to Expect
Off-road Assessment - Lasting approximately 1.5 hours, this session evaluates driving history, medical history, physical, cognitive, and visual abilities, along with the impact of medical conditions on driving skills.
On-road Assessment - Participate in a 50-minute drive in a Specialised Driving Instructor's vehicle, allowing real-world evaluation of driving abilities.
Expert Guidance on Your Driving Assessment
Our driver trained Occupational Therapists are specifically qualified to make recommendations on medical fitness to drive. You will receive a detailed report detailing the driving performance in all aspects of the assessment and recommendations for a medical specialist to consider when making the final decision regarding medical fitness to drive ongoing.
