Meet Judy
Executive Director / Principal Occupational Therapist
Wife to Matt and mother of 4, Judy loves meeting new people and is passionate about Occupational Therapy. She thinks it’s the best job in the world and is genuinely shocked it’s not everyone’s profession of choice.
In 2004, Judy graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours 1).
Judy has over 20 years of experience working with people, their families and support networks. She is able to work across the lifespan, with her specialty being complex disability.
Judy has a great understanding of the NDIS practice framework. She has had extensive experience working with Disability Services QLD and brings that knowledge of government systems into her interactions with NDIS.
We caught up with Judy who was only too happy to share more about herself.
What do you do at My Therapy Crew?
I meet with senior leaders in our crew frequently to help make sure we are achieving our vision of making a positive impact! My dream is for us to provide quality clinical services, so a big part of my role is making sure that everyone in the crew is receiving the input and support they need, so that our clients have great clinicians serving them.
What is your superpower at work?
Converting people into coffee lovers!

I absolutely LOVE doing pilates and going for long ‘walk and talks’ with friend. On Sundays I often serve as a welcomer at my church and giving people a hearty handshake & hello on their way in the door fills me with joy.
What is your favourite quote or motto?
Tough times don’t last, tough people do – but I stole this from Clinical Director, Renita.
What do you enjoy about working at My Therapy Crew?
I love seeing our values in action.
What is your go to snack during the workday?
Cadbury 70% chocolate is my absolute favourite snack, nut bars aren’t far behind this!
What is one thing we might not guess about you?
I become easily addicted to TV shows and will commit to watching the entire series even if it’s 10 seasons long. That’s why I can never start watching Grey’s Anatomy.

Mady graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with Honours. After t a semester of uni living in Darwin for placement and travelling to remote communities, her passion for Darwin living was ignited and she returned after graduating.
During her university studies, Mady worked as an Allied Health Assistant and support worker, mostly working with children.

Behaviour Support Practitioner (Proficient) and Social Worker

Sophie is a Social Worker and Behaviour Support Practitioner with a background in child protection, disability, foster care, and acute child and adolescent mental health. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) and has experience working with people across the lifespan who present with a range of complex needs, as well as providing support to their families, carers, guardians and broader support networks.
What do you do at My Therapy Crew?
I support people across the lifespan with complex needs through trauma-informed practice, helping make sense of behaviours and turning this into practical, everyday strategies that actually work in real life.
In my Behaviour Support role, I focus on understanding the function of behaviour and developing practical, person-centred strategies that work towards improving one’s quality of life and reducing behaviours of concern.
As a Social Worker, I provide therapeutic and psychosocial supports, drawing on evidence-based and strengths-based practice.
In both roles, I work closely with the client and those supporting them to ensure the best possible outcomes.
What is your superpower at work?
Meeting people where they’re at! Whether that’s in a park, clinic, home, or wherever life happens, because the best outcomes happen when people feel safe and, in an environment, where they feel they can thrive.
I’m flexible in how I work, whether that’s swapping office shoes for runners to kick a ball or adapting to what best supports the person in front of me.

Outside of work, I’m happiest when I’m out and about! This includes taking my dog for a run, playing sport, exploring new places, or trying new things. I love catching up with friends and starting the day with a sunrise coffee and walk.

I’m a country girl at heart. I grew up on my family farm in NSW, which has been in our family for three generations, and I absolutely adore that lifestyle. There’s something really special about the outback.

Sarah has a professional background as a veterinary nurse and has over 5 years experience. She completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing in 2022. Sarah has been in the roles of head nurse and practice manager progressing and refining her administration skills. Sarah moved to Darwin from Melbourne a few years ago to enjoy the beautiful pace and outdoors of Darwin.

I am an administration officer who is the point of contact between our therapists and clients, ensuring our clinic runs smoothly day to day. As well as ensuring there is a welcoming and happy voice on the end of our phones!

I love being outdoors and exploring the sites of Darwin. I love heading out camping for the weekend, fishing or taking the dog out for a run to explore. I also ride horses with friends in my spare time to catch up and see different places. Indoors I love reading, usually fantasy or psychological thrillers or spending time relaxing and doing puzzles.

Meet Ruth
Ruth is a qualified CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) since 2006 after completing her Bachelor of Business degree at QUT in 2003. Prior to joining My Therapy Crew, she worked in areas including Compliance, Policy Writing and Accreditation in the education sector. Ruth joined My Therapy Crew in 2021, assisting Matthew in various accounting and practice management tasks.

Between running around after her kids and their various extracurricular activities Ruth enjoys cooking and hosting family and friends. She also enjoys being out in the country, saying if she wasn’t an accountant, she would love to run a Bed and Breakfast.
